Liquids are well known for their stability against compression. Engineers and inventors have created a wide array of hydraulic machinery, which uses this rather cool property of fluids to transfer massive pressure and torque from a piston to a grip and help man lift or move heavy objects, mill huge metal objects, crush the toughest materials, and so on. We wonder how come we did not see the Hydrokinetic Wrench coming, as this nifty (wonder) tool has been created having the fluids' incompressibility feature as a very strong basis. Even more, we could ask why such an idea hasn't come into being earlier...
The principle behind the Adjustable Wrench is as simple as it gets: technically, this adjustable wrench uses the compression stability of a liquid to maintain the user-defined grip-span.
Basically, you place the hexagon-shaped ring around a bolt you want to screw/unscrew, and then manually adjust the grip of the wrench. A special design fluid container comes with a locking valve and will help you maintain that specific grip when closed, thus allowing you to transfer all your wrench's torque to the bolt or nut.
On the inside, the Adjustable Wrench comes with a fluid container and a valve. To adjust the grip, you have to open the valve and thus let the fluid move through the inner tube, pushing one of the adjustable grippers to tighten the clasp. When you think the grip is snug enough, all you have to do is close the valve and lock both the fluid and the gripper in place. Turn the wrench in the needed direction and there you go – a stable and fully adjustable wrench at your convenience.
The 7.5†(18 cm) length of the Adjustable Wrench makes it quite handy and easy to both carry and store, while its slim heads will grant you access in tight places. The Hydrokinetic Wrench can be adjusted to grip up to 23 different sizes both metric and standard and its retailer claims you'll get excellent results with damaged nuts or bolts as well. This wrench is made from nickel-plated, cold-forged steel and can be yours for $24.99. We're not sure we're looking at a breakthrough in wrench-making, but this one looks really neat.
