Millions of pounds worth of help and advice will be on offer to UK manufacturers at a high-powered manufacturing summit in Telford later this month.
Government agencies with cash and practical assistance at their disposal to help the manufacturing community will be represented at The Manufacturer Live 2005 event at the Telford International Centre on 28th and 29th September.
The DTI's manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) will be taking a major role in the event.
The MAS is able to help with lean manufacturing implementation and will have representatives from every UK region on hand with examples of work already undertaken.
These include Morgan Cars and Webb Ellis rugby balls.
The Government's UKTI organisation will also be on hand to help with opening up new markets for export and finding new overseas partners to work with.
Help from UKTI can range from practical advice, arranging contacts or providing financial aid.
The manufacturing and technology sector skills council SEMTA is also represented at the summit.
SEMTA can advise on skills issues, and in particular can advise on funding for apprentice places.
Delegates will also be able to ask questions about the work of the DTI-backed Manufacturing Forum when it reports back on its progress to date in a special panel session.
With the first birthday of the Manufacturing Forum approaching, Joint Chairman Kevin Smith, who is Chief Executive of GKN, will present the forum's priorities and work done so far.
