The Arm & Hammer Essentials Laundry Detergent has no dyes and is completely clear. It is boosted with baking soda and made of plant-based soaps that are biodegradable. That is important, especially, if you have a septic tank system. Its surfactants are 100% naturally derived; it has no phosphates, bleaches, or petroleum-based cleaners. The bottle is very small, easy to carry, and takes up little space. I have a front-loading Whirlpool Duet HE machine and I was pleased to see that it does not foam up or cause any problems in that way either.

Best of all, our clothing has been coming out extremely clean and fresh smelling. I have used the Essentials fabric softening sheets, as well, and they are effective in softening, freshening, and they do not leave any kind of stains on our clothing. Many times in the past we would have a problem with oily-type stains on our dark clothing after we would get it out of the dryer. We often suspected the dryer sheets. But Arm & Hammer's Essentials Dryer Sheets do not have petroleum-based softeners and the problem has been eliminated.
